XQ Cuticle Remy!!

Hair review!!!  I promised myself I would  NEVER turn into one of those beauty bloggers/vloggers, but honestly, it is where I am right now and have been for awhile so to not blog about it, and to not offer my OPINION would not be right!!!  So normally, when I get a weave with beauty supply store, non-virgin hair, I use the Remy Saga hair GOLD!!  However, everytime I would go to buy the Saga, the packaging of the XQ Cuticle Remy always caught my eye and now, I'm going to try it!!  There is nothing wrong with the Remy Saga hair, in fact, I LOVE IT, but I want to switch up the weather some and try something different.  I have a scheduled install next Thursday so I will be posting pictures and maybe a video then of my first impressions and the new style.  I am very excited about the style because I'm doing something else different this time regarding the curling of the hair!!!  **STAY TUNED**

Am I the only one super late with this?!?!? I was at the mall last weekend and BOOM there was a Sephora inside JCPenney!! I went in to check it out, but otherwise I absolutely loathe JCPenney...it's good for Bridal Registries, but other than that I find the store super boring!!! I guess I wasn't the only one because the Sephora seems to really brighten the vibe inside the department store. Of course some are smaller than other Sephoras, but I love Sephora for their roll on fragrances, beauty incentives when you purchase stuff, extensive fragrance collection, urban decay, and skin care items!!! I will take a Sephora whereever I can find one-Even JCPenney!! Apparently this has been in the works since earlier this year, and I'm the late one!!! Hey...can't argue with accessibility!

FOR COLORED GIRLS....my opinion

I'm not sure which of you went to see the long anticipated film this past weekend but I certainly made an event of it with my baby sister, mother, auntie (whose expecting her first...YAY!!), and my grandmother after dinner at Maggianos!

I was excited to see the film but the movie disappointed me :( a great deal, sadly.

Reason being, and please don't shoot me loyal Tyler Perryans...i'm one too. I didn't think the film accurately captured the essence of the delight and plight that being a "colored" woman exudes.
GRANT IT, I did not read the book nor have I seen the play although the film does have me anxious to get my paws on them both. I felt the film captured the common struggles of women across all income, and racial lines. With the exception, of Janet's character, I don't think any issues that were unique to "colored" women, black women were depicted. ALL sexually active teen girls risk facing the scary reality of an unplanned pregnancy, lots of wives/women of crazed veterens/addicts are abused, many women are sex and attention deprived, etc. Instead I feel that if a colored woman's story was to be told, then it should have captured; how our men can't get jobs because they're black NOT veteren and alcoholic, in fact, some have not a thing wrong with them. It could have focused more on how our women are up against this still newly discovered culture of the "down low" brother because of our community's homophobia and our men's fear of being found out or labeled a sissy if they are with other men, it could have captured the absense of the effects of a successful father figure in the house of our many single mother households and those households that are thriving against the odds for lack of resources, education and the abundance of poverty in our community, our overly sexualized public personas that say nothing about our strength, legacy, and journey, etc.
I simply thought the movie did a great job of depicting issues relateable BY ALL women NOT just "colored" women. While that's not a bad thing but a great thing...the movie was for COLORED girls and we do really have our own set of issues that are purely unique to US!!!!!

MOST IMPORTANTLY, it could have captured how much WE SIMPLY ROCK!!!!!!

BLACK WOMEN RUN ISH!!!!

40+ & FAB!!!! (Black Pride Moment, Sorry?)

As of lately i've been on this self improvement, beauty, health, fitness, positive attitude kick and anyone who knows me, knows that I pride myself on my African American heritage....LOVE being a Black Woman!!!! While browsing the net I came across a few pictures of some nubian (LOL) women that show us better than anything else that Black DOES NOT crack!!!

At 22 I can only hope I have a fraction of these ladies' beauty, sex appeal, poise, and grace when i'm 40+!!!!! I should have done this post when I was doing my Black Women in History posts in February & March. Nevertheless, it's here now. I'm posting this now because I believe my fellow African Americans are the sexiest, baddest people on this Earth...we bring the flavor, humor, fun, spice, mystery, strength, sugar, and EVERYTHING NICE!!! Kudos to us eh? and these BEAUTIFUL WOMEN rockin' 40+ like only WE can!!!! Of course there are more women than just the three shown here.....

This doesn't have a title because I couldn't come up with one that I thought totally fit the bill. This post is moreso about my venting than the reader's enjoyment. Who made any of us the judge of another's level of beauty?!?!? It is really disheartening to hear the evil remarks that people repeatedly make about the star of the film "Precious" Gabby Sidibe. I mean from regular/everyday people NOT nominated for Oscars, to SUPERSTARS like Jamie Foxx and Howard Stern. IT'S MEAN!
I'm not saying i'm exempt from such criticizing because i"ve critiqued the looks of some in my past as well, but the extent to which the remarks of the Precious star goes, encourages me to challenge myself and be better....physical beauty is, JUST THAT, physical beauty!!! It doesn't speak to the heart, character, or true traits of that person. Our bodies are just shells that house a spirit full of personality and FEELINGS, yet praised merely for what they look like, with the joke being on the worshipper!!
I am one that can say I have met, befriended, and observed people who were absolutely gorgeous PHYSICALLY and lacked loyalty, depth, sense of humor, intelligence, warmth, and plain ol' friendliness!!! Beauty isn't about the physical.
Hearing the remarks about Gabourey Sidibe hurt MY feelings so I know at some point they get to hers and the people like her in the world. Noone should ever be an outsider because of their looks, for their character should speak volumes over their looks whether good or bad! Every interview i've seen with Gabby Sidibe her personality seems just as funny, warm and bubbly...not to mention she speaks very eloquently. Her acting in Precious was superb!!!

Can we challenge ourselves to look deeper and BE deeper by embracing people for WHO they are and not for mere superficial, physical looks....The world would be so much better!!!
"The term beauty fades doesn't just imply the effects of old age, wrinkles or injuries, but to personalities as well. Tearing down or judging a fellow man based on their looks is just as much an injustice as racism, sexism, ageism and any other form of discrimation." ME**

UGH...a NEW look is in order!

I need a new look...I am so tired of wearing this bob that i'm on my own nerves!!! It's been so long that my hairstylist refuses to even do it again. However, I can't for the life of me decide what it is I should do next with my hair. I've been working hard to get it to grow back from the last few times I chopped it off BUT i'm struggling with not going that route again....ugh HELP SOMEONE!!! I'm thinking about keeping the bang and going long for the duration of winter, hmmm IDK!!! Nothing is inspiring me and everyone and their momma is trying to look like Ms. Nicki Basic Minaj!! I'm feeling GLAM though, like long, popping lashes, vibrant lip color/gloss, soften up my nail polish and natural eye makeup while playing up the lashes.....IT'S A NEW YEAR!!!! I need some help...I feel like i've outdone myself! How do you outdo YOURSELF...i've changed so much I don't know what the freak to do......

MAKE ME OVER!!!

So, I haven't written personal post in a hot one but not that anyone cares, i'm getting a makeover this weekend!!
