On February 19, 2012 @ 11:13am, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, my daughter Trinity Noelle. Six days later, I'm still in awe of the whole experience. I can't believe I gave birth (one of my biggest fears) and not only that, NATURAL birth! OMG, yes, I had NO pain medication...no epidural, drip, or anything. After a series of false labor alarms last weekend, I entered active labor around 9:30am on the 19th, got to the hospital around 10:30 and gave my final push to push my princess into the world at 11:13am. The reason for no drugs? I got to the hospital fully dilated and it was just time to push...SCARED does not describe how I felt when I was told I wouldn't receive meds. The pain from the contractions felt like someone was beating the hell out of me in the stomach and back with a bulldozer! God must've heard my prayers from the previous months and he gave me an EXTRA quick delivery, but honestly the pain was absent during my pushing. Anywho...as the title states "mommy" has been added to the mix! I am someone's mommy! Her dad and I are so ecstatic and I can already tell daddy's little girl can do no wrong! I'm so happy for this new journey, the ability to give life, and for my daughter...my BLESSING!
More than just cute, she's the doll that can cover it all; glamour & intellect all in one blog....THESE ARE MY CASHMERE THOUGHTS***

Checking in...
Tick tock, tick tock...yeah, the clock is winding down and in just a matter of 2 or 3 weeks, I will be someone's mother. I will be a mother to a baby girl...Trinity Noelle Springfield! My third trimester has kept me away from my blog(s) due to a lack of energy and a very eventful life. Prepapring for a baby is indeed what everyone says it is...a job! However, I have been enjoying the heck out of the process the appointments, feeling my child inside of me, shopping, eating, and just learning about being a parent! Everyone is so excited!!
While this may be a post more fitting for my pregnancy blog, which I have also been neglecting for months on end, I thought it only appropriate to explain to my followers my lack of entries. I'm SORRY!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderfully BLESSED, happy, productive, and fun 2012 so far!! I feel so blessed at this point in my life, moreso than ever before, especially from how I felt in the beginning of my pregnancy! I shall be back soon with more material, commenting, and gaining new followers/readers!
'til then...HAPPY BLOGGING!

Again it's that time of the year...
yeah, it is...time for holidays, family meals, making memories, staying indoors, reflecting on the current year and repositioning for the year ahead. At least that is how it is for me! Sitting here reading a few things (one to include TD Jakes' Relationship Bible), getting acquainted with my journal again, and thinking about where I am and how can I get to where I want to be from here is provoking many thoughts in me! No doubt my life is changing even while I feel stagnant (just sometimes) and battle the up and down feelings of the excitment of impending mommyhood, confusion for not being a 100% on what I want to do with the rest of my life, and alone because I don't really feel like the friends I have had, some since forever, and I have a whole lot in common anymore. Not to mention being pregnant and unwed has taken its toll on me here and there as well. I pictured the ring before the baby carriage but due to untimely decision making things got real and life had something else planned. So, my reality has become baby carriage no ring with complete contentment as I ponder about the horrible state of monogamy and the incline of divorce rates. I no longer know if I EVER want to marry forreal!! Oprah and Stedmond's lifestyle is looking like a go for me! No contract, no vows, no big to do, no lifetime expectations, and no lies about for better or worse, sickness and health, rich or for poor til death we part! I mean is anyone celebrating an anniversary?!?! I'm sure the anniversaries of marriages will become just as extinct as dinosaurs by 2030! Sad, a lover of Disney movies, namely Cinderella...I once became elated at the thought of marriage. Things do change...
So, it's time to take inventory because I'm ever changing as well!! What will my New Years post contain?!? Besides the blessing of a beautiful, healthy, happy baby girl...what do I want REALLY?!? Time to refocus the life plan!

" Treat a girl who’s not your girlfriend like she’s the love of your life and she will wait for the title forever"
~Black Girls Are Easy~
Damn! Have I been that girl? Of course I have, and so have many of the women I know. I would be willing to bet that all women have, at least once. What girl has not been the one saving up all her love coins for the jackpot that we THINK is the him that all BUT committs! Seemingly it is all there; Chemistry, you go out, you meet everyone, you're seemingly the apple of his eye, he's investing time, affection, pillow talk, the works, it varies from situation to situation (I've lived this, my girlfriends have all at some point complained of this), EXCEPT when the topic of monogamy arises. He's always not ready or unavailable for whatever reason. Maybe it's distance (rolls eyes), or he's afraid of being hurt again (the okie doke), focusing on his career, can't provide for you the way he'd like to at the moment, blah blah blah...no need to proceed because we know the excuses proceed for miles!! However, no matter what, WE, ol' loyal, find every reason in the book to be his ol' reliable...actually loving him and being committed to him while in actuality he is only NOT wifing you because he is waiting for whomever it is he actually wants and is actively seeking her while you love all over him or pitifully wait for the opportunity to. Yea, like Wendy Williams says, he is our boyfriend "in our heads", but you are only his "buddy" appropiate for every position but his ONE, his boo thing, his girl! Crazy we find ourselves "in love" (the completely false version) with him and have never met his mama, the relationship talk is foreign territory, and despite our unconditional loyalty the reality is it is mostly physical, for the time being, or not what he wants at all.
With all of that said...WHY is it that we women continue to make excuses to rationalize our very illogical choices to stay in his corner?? Because like the quote above is saying...it's all for the title, the championship ring, the fantasy (picket fence, family portraits, kids, dog, and family vacays). Don't get me wrong, he may want that BUT not with you... BUT yet you think IF you could just get him to this or that, or if YOU could just DO this or that, say this or that...you'll be his top shelf choice. How many times has that formula failed??? It always does! I'ts sickening...what makes him so worthy/!?!? And it's even more horrible when you recognize the crazy pattern in your own life in different degrees at different times but you notice it, it's there Yea, I'm kinda guilty as I type this and have been in my past- hence the use of the word WE throughout the post, but in my Patti voice "its a newww day!!"

Do you love your occupation?!!?
I was posed the question last night of what is my dream job and am I doing it. Well, to answer the question, if I could create my dream job OR stop procrastinating in my creation of it, I would own a personal shopping and image consulting mini empire! That is a far far cry from the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice I earned at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, but as you grow you learn things including things about yourself. Additionally, I have always wanted to run a nonprofit organization dedicated to the steady progression of young girls, preferable minority girls. I have started the VERY basic ground work on these projects, but procrastination has hindered my own progression. So disappointed in myself!! Not to mention that everyday we wakeup not loving the life we live by living the life we'd love is a waste!! The world wants what each of us has to give and inner passions are for a divine reason! Are you living your dream? What changes could you make to live the life you love and contribute to the world by way of your dreams and deepest passions? I want anyone who reads this to take a second to think about the current quality of the life you live as it relates to your personal satisfaction and it's contribution to your innermost passions!! Are you on fire for your current endeavors and current occupation!?!? If not refocus and do what makes you happy...God has already figured out the rest!

"UNITED" States of America...The James Anderson Case
So, I have been trying to make an effort to stay up on National news. In my doing so, I came across the most saddening story about a man, James Anderson. As the doll that can cover it all, I will certainly be offering an opinion about this story. For those of you that are not familiar with the James Anderson story, here is an excerpt about the story from CNN's website:
"Jackson, Mississippi (CNN) -- On a recent Sunday morning just before dawn, two carloads of white teenagers drove to Jackson, Mississippi, on what the county district attorney says was a mission of hate: to find and hurt a black person. In a parking lot on the western side of town they found their victim. James Craig Anderson, a 49-year-old auto plant worker, was standing in a parking lot, near his car. The teens allegedly beat Anderson repeatedly, yelled racial epithets, including "White Power!" according to witnesses. Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith says a group of the teens then climbed into their large Ford F250 green pickup truck, floored the gas, and drove the truck right over Anderson, killing him instantly. "
I can imagine that, like myself, most people have been FLABBERGASTED by this story!! For a young African American woman it's; frustrating, infuriating, astonishing, hurtful, and a REMINDER!!! America refuses to part with her first, truest, longest lasting romance with RACISM!! Racism is ever present and abound...the oppression, discrimination, prejudice against people of color, namely African American people will never be something we REMEMBER. We did not need to know this story to remind us of this fact, just look at the hard time that the President of the Nation is getting and we all know why its that way! Oh and remember the Jena 6 in Jena, Louisiana? Yea, that was less than 10 years ago..forgot about that? I posted about that too!
While, the death of James Anderson and the means by which he died should really not be a surprise to people, it is because of where we are as a country, but honestly it should not be because of the same reason. Mississippi especially, has teetered tottered with it's Jim Crow past since the day of Reconstruction. Doubt me? The state did not adopt the 13th Amendment UNTIL 1995!!!! HOWEVER, with ALL OF THAT, taken into account; the nerve, the gull, the motivation, the will of someone to act the way those teenagers did that night is ASTONISHING, APPALLING, SHOCKING, HATEFUL, MORBID TO say the LEAST!!

I will be glued to the media to see just how the state of Mississippi, who has declared this a racial, hate crime already, will handle this case and the offenders.
They should be made example of in every way possible, National examples.
Let this incident remind us that to know one's history and to progress as a unit and a country is to also take on the responsibility to personally rectify it by any means necessary. It is PRE-Election year, remember the voting rights act was not passed until 1965, schools were not desegregated until 1954, it took 232 years approximately to get our first President of color, the President was just publicly called a "Tar baby", and everyday subtle gestures of racism are among us all. These were not old people that killed James Anderson. They did not burn crosses and sport white robes and masks. These were simply teenagers with evil intentions that had fatal results...in the America we live in NOW! It was not that long ago that the parents, grandparents, and great grandparents of these children hosed down blacks, refused service to blacks, and owned slaves! Like folk tales, and recipes, ideas of racism and evil are passed down through generations. WE, AMERICANS, have to KNOW better to do better for the common good. My prayers are extended to both the family of James Anderson as well as his soul, and the families of those teenagers.
Will Mississippi adequately seek justice?

Why meeee????
So, I flew to Atlanta this weekend to hangout with one of my friends because we were celebrating her graduating from Clark Atlanta University today. I was way tooo pumped for this trip. I got to Atlanta turned up...ready to party, make it rain, hit up wet willies, shop, and have it up! So tell me why, not even 10 hours after arriving, somebody broke into my rental car and stole ALL of my ish INCLUDING my laptop!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE NO WORDS!!! I mean if I could express the way I feel maybe I'd say i'm blown, mad, sad, angry, disappointed..but none of those seem adequate!!! My laptop had all of my college memories on it, pics pics pics and more pics including intimate ones with me and the ex boo! I'm DONE! Of course I filed a police report but we already know I'm not getting the ish back. Its a complete lost...I feel thorougly violated!! My laptop was my life and I had some badd ish in that suitcase, expensive perfume, makeup galore, all my accessories, shoes I haven't worn yet, clothes with tags still on them!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do people steal??!?!? I have never stolen so is this karma for something? God will deal with them. This is the worst!!

No place like happines.............
I am slowly dying, dying, dying...............that's exactly how I feel everyday when I wake up for work, realize what's needed to do for work. I think it's safe to say that if there is any feeling that is more hateful than hate itself, I feel that for my occupation!!! Before you call me, an ungrateful brat, hear me out! I'm more than grateful for employment and God knows I appreciate my paycheck *bills bills bills* but honestly every waking, breathing, energetic moment I have is spent working!!!!! Hence, the reason why I have been awol on the blogging front. I can't catch a break!Anywho, in between appointmentS, typing reports, scheduling appointments, and correcting deficiencies in my cases, I have managed to fail my first semester classes at Georgetown! Yep, the worst thing that could happen to me right now, happened. I failed my classes when stuck between a rock and a hard place having to decide between school and work....of course my livelihood won that beef.
With all the not sleeping, relaxing, and lack of peace of mind that is running amuck in my life, I have decided I need to be the one signing the checks, determining my own fate, and creating jobs. I need to start my own brand. So, yes, with that said I have a few projects in the works. Inspired now more than ever before, I realize that I need to go after my dreams to love the life I am living instead of living. UGGGHHGHHG!!!!!!! Everytime I think about work I could snatch out my entire weave and scream to the top of my lungs...What will that prove though???
You better bet that when I leave this job i'm going to the most luxurious, remote spa retreat I can find to renew my mind....I need some intense mind reconditioning and a bottle of patron because THIS CAN'T BE LIFE!!!!

Finding Myself....
"& honestly, at 23, I would probably love my work more than I did she. So we, ain't we, it's me and, her, cus what she prefers over me, is work. & that's where we differ, I have to give her free time even if it hurts. So breathe, mami it's deserved. You've been put on this earth to be all you can be like the reserves. And me, my time in the army is served. So, I have to allow her. her time to serve. The time is now for her, in time she'll mature....and to ask her now, it ain't fair"
~JayZ~
BUT he'll GAIN one instead of losing one.
I'm extremely happy and proud of myself and the young lady Ive become; 23, gainfully employed, childless, crazy manless (actually just manless lol), law abiding, community serving citizen conquering her dreams!! That verse from "Lost One" reminds me of myself, right now, for the world. I'm doing me successfully with not much room for a "him" but, with that, my "ME" project is successfully underway and when the time is right, he'll be one PROUD King, Blessed among men.
I'm the happiest I've been in the last 3 years and I'm happier by the day because I own my happiness, my peace, my smile, and my dreams...BECOMING ALL I CAN BE LIKE THE RESERVES!! It's been somewhat of a struggle getting here, but the joy is knowing those stories have ended and now I'm single-handedly writing this bestseller of ME, NOW! We question, life's trials and we make our plans not knowing what lies on the other side if those plans just happen to not come into fruition Well, mine fell through, and i'm happy to say my smile is bigger, my days are more positive, my circle is more supportive, and my short & long term goals are underway!!!!!
YAY ME!!!!!
Everything I am now is just a snippet of the well rounded woman I really hope to be one day adding to that Legal Professional, Entrepreneur, Wife, Mom, and Friend! I'm realizing dreams by the day!! ALL of what I AM NOW is what I have always wanted to be.
In hindsight, I wouldn't have it any other way....I'm enjoying being 23!!!!!!!!

& she grows....
Sooo let me start by apologizing to my followers because i'm the absolute worst blogger on the block right now...with like little to no updates! NOT to mention it's black history month. CHOCOLATE ***kisses*** to all my fellow beautiful, BOLD, regal, black folk in the blogosphere!!!So, I feel like I owe ya some reading material. Therefore, I'm putting myself on a 5 day writing challenge. HEY, i'm taking baby steps now please bare with me lovies! I've missed reading you alls blogs and commenting on them regularly too.
Anywho.............
I'm experiencing alot of change right now inwardly and outwardly and I'M falling in love with the young woman that is making great strides for the woman to be....the maturation of ME!!! Along the way I've realized I have outgrown somethings.
Some people, things, places, HELL some of my jeans for that matter just don't rock to well with me anymore. I've outgrown them like puberty, grade school, 18 & up clubs, relationship games, wasted weekends etc, etc, etc...life goes on but....
It's a pretty known fact that I don't like goodbyes...i like to hold on to things moreso people FOREVER but lately I've noticed I done outgrown that too!!!!!
This must me the dolo chapter of the *Chronicles of Tora* the part when everything else fades to black and I focus on me; my happiness, my goals, my attitude, my growth, and MY potential!
MORE THAN EVER, i'm enjoying the beat of my own drum and it feels good, like i've arrived. Don't need no permission, second opinions...i'm having fun discovering me but I guess that's where i'm supposed to be at 23....no baggage, holds, just living free....I'm living for positive memories

So let the having NO life chapter begin! Imma do this, this time....school and work! How Imma do this, I haven't the slightest but I must further my education, increase my skillset, and well, I need to keep my job!!!
My first night of classes at Georgetown University is this coming Thursday. Class from 6:15pm to 9:50pm will be an interesting feat to accomplish after working full time during the day, but I only have to tough it out til December and I'm hoping to land a new job between now & then.
Anywho, even though intimidated I'm excited! This has to work out, people do it all the time. People raise families, work full time, go to school, participate in church functions, shuttle their kids to and from their activities. I just need to master the art of time management FAST! 1 YEAR, THAT'S ALL IT'LL BE IS ONE YEAR!!!

Quote of the night!
Friendship: A building contract you sign
with laughter and break with tears.
I chose this quote because i describes an interesting facet of my life from this year. I have realized that some friendships, new and old, are not meant to be permanent but to simply serve their purpose. A couple of friendships, I am still on the fence about and well, I will let those ride out and see where they go...meanwhile, I have been meeting some interesting people...all are different but all are like me. I like making friends but I love those friendships that prove worthy and stand the test of time. In a moment of trial and error, one may realize that those with the dearest of titles, are the least worthy and should be the least vital.*TOAST* to wonderful friendships, the family members we get to pick!

Quote of the night!
You're the only one that can make the difference! Whatever your dream is, go for it!
~Erving Magic Johnson~
Not only is Magic Johnson a legendary basketball star but he is an ubersuccessful business man with ventures like the Los Angeles Lakers, Starbucks, AMC Magic Theaters, and the list goes on. I don't mind taking this advice from him and God knows I need such advice. I have slept on my ideas for too long....
That's not why we get ideas.
We get ideas so that we can bring them to fruition. What Magic is saying is that we must become the change we want to see, otherwise, why complain? ACT and ACT now because there is no time like the present to to put your spin on something, make something better, or like Magic said, make a difference!
All we ever have is today and today we can set goals for tomorrow but we can diligently work on them today!!!!! GO FOR IT!!!
The year ahead my optimism...what's next?
With the holiday season winding down, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa!! I should recognize Kwanzaa this year. Amazing how that's never really caught on as one of the mainstream annual events in the African American community. However, pretty common to us all is the ensuing NEW YEAR! That's right we've made it through 2010 and have been blessed enough to make it to the end of the year to bid farewell to 2010 and usher in 2011.
I love the new year mostly because I love the allure of the unknown. Like children that just can't go to sleep on Christmas eve wondering what Santa will bring for them on Christmas morning, I believe, as adults, New Years Eve is our "Christmas" so to speak a mystery for us to solve over the next 365 days but a story for us to write all our own. Every new year, I wonder who will I meet, where will I go, what or who will make me cry, and who or what will make me smile in the upcoming year....It's exciting! This year I'm lookin forward to;
1. Starting my own business: YES! There is no time like the present and procrastination is the enemy! I'm gonna step out on a limb in 2011 and see my dream come true. So far all looks promising. Step 1, apply for my business license and register the name. I need to pick a name. I'm down to three.
2. I want to do more of ALL of those things that I enjoy in 2011 whether I have a partner in crime or not! Horseback riding, pole dancing, a mini trip or two, hot yoga, I don't even know what else but I have realized that I don't need to have anyone with me to do what I want, soooo whatever it is...imma go for it! I want to have more fun even if it's alone!
3. CHURCH!! I fell off in 2010 and simply put, I have to do better. I will be there in 2011 for Sunday service, Bible Study, and tithing. There really is no excuse for my absenteeism...NONE!
4. I'm going to guard my heart more starting in 2011 and be more real to myself! Quality should always trump quantity and while I have plenty of "friends" around me, I have been forced to realize via unfortunate situations that my friendship is no reciprocated with some, loyalty isn't as important to others as it is me and while that's fine, I will guard my heart in that regard.
5. Okay, okay, so do not and I repeat DO NOT judge me with this next one, but I do want to get in tip top shape in the new year. I love the gym I go to but honestly, it's these RATCHED eating habits I need to get in check.
6. SAVINGS! SAVINGS! SAVINGS! I will do more that in 2011, I mean honestly...i'm horrible with money sometimes...I could have a mansion or that beautiful Jaguar XJ if I wasn't so careless with my spending...smh! Imma do it and I can't wait to see the accumulation on NYE 2011!!!
So that's my New Years Goal list! I'm gonna stick to it too checking back periodically to check my progress, and then again at the end of the year to prayerfully check everything off!!!

Quote of the night...
be afraid you will make one!!!
~Elbert Hubbard~
You can't be afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes are the BEAUTIFUL evidence of trying!! Not to mention that some of the best inventions, ideas, successful businesses, and relationships were MISTAKES!! Someone screwed up, didn't mean to do, write, say, go there BUT, THEY DID!! So while you're dreaming and backing those dreams with action...embrace your mistakes! If nothing else you'll learn from it and think, become, and do better!!! NO failure in mistakes only lessons!!!

Quote of the night!
"If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on, in spite of it all. And so today, I still have a dream"
~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.~
Enable everyday to allow you to become close to your dreams coming to fruition by NEVER settling!!! Discontent? Restless? Experiencing a lack of peace? Turn that negative energy positive with drive and ambition to live the life you love in order to LOVE THE LIFE YOU LIVE!!! This is your only chance...**Smile*Hug*Kiss*LIVE*

woes of the dating girl..single woman blues
Cruising a popular online forum for bloggers, I came across a thread posted by a young woman that read something like help me figure out what's wrong with me, i'm trying to find Mr.Right! My question is, does Mr.Right and Mrs.Right actually exist or is there just Mr. & Mrs. Good Enough? What constitutes someone as "Right" and is that purely personal to the seeker of love? Furthermore, is monogamy a thing of the past?
I ask because everyone seems to just be kickin' it, "talking", chillin', and doing them. I hear very few people, young and old alike, actually taking steps to be with one another exclusively to learn and embrace growing in love together. What's up with that? I mean we're closer than we've ever been before right, with blogger, twitter, facebook, bbm, email, myspace, skype, messenger, text messages, etc. The list just goooooes!! With all of the these social mediums to meet, interact, and get acquainted with one another, why does it seem, and I stress SEEM because I have not studied this or anything, that healthy, monogamous, relationships of substance are so few and far in between?? I mean I'm not even talking about marriage, that's another can of worms. I'm simply speaking of exclusive courtships, RELATIONSHIPS between two people. It seems like everyone is scared to man or woman up and put both feet in for fear of getting GOT so we continue to "play the game", or making sure we get them before they "GET" us....but why??? How come monogamy seems to have such a bad rap? How can that be overcome? and have the barriers, whatever they may be, that are preventing healthy, loving relationships, long relationships always been there, but because of the forementioned social mediums they're ever so noticeable?
I mean really? She was, at least as it relates to looks, a perfectly attractive woman...has it really come to women taking to social networks on the world wide web to find love or a worthy date???

FOR COLORED GIRLS....my opinion
I'm not sure which of you went to see the long anticipated film this past weekend but I certainly made an event of it with my baby sister, mother, auntie (whose expecting her first...YAY!!), and my grandmother after dinner at Maggianos!I was excited to see the film but the movie disappointed me :( a great deal, sadly.
Reason being, and please don't shoot me loyal Tyler Perryans...i'm one too. I didn't think the film accurately captured the essence of the delight and plight that being a "colored" woman exudes.
GRANT IT, I did not read the book nor have I seen the play although the film does have me anxious to get my paws on them both. I felt the film captured the common struggles of women across all income, and racial lines. With the exception, of Janet's character, I don't think any issues that were unique to "colored" women, black women were depicted. ALL sexually active teen girls risk facing the scary reality of an unplanned pregnancy, lots of wives/women of crazed veterens/addicts are abused, many women are sex and attention deprived, etc. Instead I feel that if a colored woman's story was to be told, then it should have captured; how our men can't get jobs because they're black NOT veteren and alcoholic, in fact, some have not a thing wrong with them. It could have focused more on how our women are up against this still newly discovered culture of the "down low" brother because of our community's homophobia and our men's fear of being found out or labeled a sissy if they are with other men, it could have captured the absense of the effects of a successful father figure in the house of our many single mother households and those households that are thriving against the odds for lack of resources, education and the abundance of poverty in our community, our overly sexualized public personas that say nothing about our strength, legacy, and journey, etc.
I simply thought the movie did a great job of depicting issues relateable BY ALL women NOT just "colored" women. While that's not a bad thing but a great thing...the movie was for COLORED girls and we do really have our own set of issues that are purely unique to US!!!!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY, it could have captured how much WE SIMPLY ROCK!!!!!!
BLACK WOMEN RUN ISH!!!!
Unplanned pregnancy...No Excuses anymore, right?
Ladies would you use this??? What, if anything, do you think about this?
