PRISSY SWEET CAKE TREATS! Where pretty & tasty mingle*

CUPCAKES!!!!!! I love cupcakes and even more, I love creating cupcakes...toying with recipes, designs, and of course eating them!  Anywho, what was once JUST a hobby has now turned into a budding business.  Prissy Sweet Cake Treats, follow me at (@prissysweetcake).  I was spending so much on cupcakes at various cupcakeries in the DC area and thought "I could do this" "I do this."  So I took the necessary steps to start Prissy Sweet Cake Treats! That isn't a joke, I'm for real! Anywho, this weekend, I had the pleasure of creating the cupcakes for www.ybse.blogspot.com's Valentines event "Cupcakes & Champagne" and to my pleasure and pride, the crowd LOVED them!!  Yes, it was my first time creating cupcakes for someone, a complete stranger's event.  Anywho, be on the lookout for more cupcake posts of my creations for Prissy Sweet Cake Treats!

Gonna be SINGLE for Vday??

Being single for Valentines Day is like living a horror movie when you don't have a Valentine, it seems. While, that's not how I feel, I certainly am going through "lovers withdrawl" realizing that this is the first time in 5 years, I won't be showered with romance on Valentines Day...So, rather then sulk and reminisce on all the beautiful, over the top, romantic Valentines Days I have had in recent years, I'm gonna reinvent the day for ME!! OTHER SINGLE GIRLS SHOULD FEEL FREE TO DO THE SAME!1. Get wasted or just a little tipsy turvy with one of your single girlfriends OR single guy friends and go SPEED DATING for the fun of it! I've never been but i'm seriously considering this, sounds fun!

2. SPA DAY!!! This you can do alone or with a friend....got more than one single friend? Have a SPA day and get a nice hotel for the night and have a sleepover. Why not spice it up with a "TOY" party, maybe some pole dancing...may be able to use the toys and moves on Vday next year.

3. Got a crush? That's less than 200 miles away? *LOL*cheap plug* maybe flip the script, go out on the limb, and have a platonic night out on the town with him. After some drinks, laughs, fun...you may muster up the courage to tell how you feel ANNNND THUS, maybe have vday on lock for next year.

4. Go out to dinner anyway!! Hit up a nice restaurant, avoid romantic places like the Melting Pot, CoCo Sala, Ruth's Chris, Mortons, etc, boooooo to couples everywhere!! Have fun...go with a SEXY male friend to see No Strings Attached. I hear its good!

5. Go OUT! PARTY! That's a great part about being single. YOU CAN DO WHATEVER, WHENEVER, HOWEVER YOU WANT!!!!!!!!! Dare to wear RED in as sexy a fashion as possible, slip on the sexiest stilleto, get dolled up, party and flirt your heart out for Vday!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHATEVER YOU DO, HAVE FUN, BE SAFE!!

Date Night.....Remixed

Valentines Day is exactly one week from today, and some of my single friends & associates are "feeling the pressure" so to speak, to have a date for that night,to fill the status quo. If that's not your situation though and you're fabulously single, with no special plans for the night, it doesn't mean your only options are sitting at home with a pint of your favorite ice cream, watching romantic comedy films....Noooooo, you're too fab, too young for that. Listening to my friends, I started thinking of fun things i'd want to do if I were single....and I came up with these ideas:

• Attend a church service with your girlfriends and a fab brunch afterwards. Have some mimosas, good food and get in some girl talk. I always find that refreshing!!


• Make reservations for you and some friends at an area restaurant or just go out on a whim and pick a restaurant without reservations. When you get there order fun girly drinks, all the appetizers that catch your eye, have dessert and then head to one of D.C's trendy boutique hotels for a sleepover. Yes, a sleepover, just like when you were 10years old. Have wine, play boardgames, make prank calls, do makeovers, talk, and if you feel like it man bash. Hotels to check out are: Hotel Helix, Hotel Palomar, Aloft....they're all modern, hip and fun. Helix is my personal fave!!


• SPEED DATING-I know plenty of guys that do not have dates for Valentines Night either. With that in mind go speed dating!!!! You can do this with girlfriends too, go to dinner and then for a round of speed dating. Who knows you may come across someone that you'd want to have drinks with after....DON'T KNOCK IT TIL YOU TRY IT!! Seeing how the movies portray speed dating you may get in a few laughs too....


• Go on a weekend girlfriends getaway. It can be local or it can be your roadtrip for next weekend since it's a long weekend. Have an impromptu weekend with your girls; spa, dining, shopping, fab hotel!!! I love road trips with my girlfriends***


• Use Valentines Day to celebrate your friendships-get small trinkets for your friends, write them a note, or card explaining how you appreciate their presence in your life,, make a collage of your pictures together. After all they probably were right there, comforting you after that last jerk broke your heart. Wear red or pink, go out and celebrate each other.

There are no written rules about Valentines Day so write your own and celebrate your femininity, friendships** It's what being a girl is all about....enjoy your day & HAPPY EARLY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!
