I turned 25 on December 7th....YAAAAAYYY, FIST PUMP, YAAAAAY, RAISE THE ROOF!!! LOL, so of course I had to make sure I looked cute!  What girl doesn't?!?  So, my trusty, ever so creative nail tech decided to do a fashion/Beyonce inspired design on my stiletto nails...HOTNESSSS!!!!!  She and I both LOVED LOVED LOVED the Leonard-Paris black & yellow dress Beyonce had on a couple days before.  So being the Bey Stan I am, of course I obliged to having that design land on NO other hands but mine! The decision was a NO brainer!  It's worth noting that this was my first time getting stiletto nails too.  I'm sooo late to hop on the pointy, rounded nail trend smh.  While I love nail art, I love it on short, square nails or my natural nails.  These were a HIT!! Celeste, my tech, is definitely an extraordinarily creative gem!!! Talent unmatched!

Hair Chronicles: "Mommy Wig"

So, I've had this wig for about a year & I love it more now than I did then.  I'm so glad I discovered wigs!  They are a one time investment & offer incomparable versatility for...years!! My hair is pass shoulder length, but short hair is my beauty guilty pleasure!!! I feel so sassy in this one, and it is my go to wig for protective styling! Yes, I'm enjoying the look without the tell in my pic?? LOL sure beats cutting my natural (literally) tresses & at less than $30, I may even put in highlights and get another!!!

Stay tuned!

How about for THICK or for thin??!?!

I have heard of some outlandish stuff when it comes to customizing prenuptial agreements like so & so should get this lump some of money MORE than what is entitled if the other person cheats, but I was just hipped recently to a new one...the extreme weight clauses.  Yes, weight clauses that were traditionally apart of the contracts of your favorite athletes, maybe models, and actors have now found themselves included in PRENUPTIAL AGREEMENTS!!  If you gain too much weight, you have to lose it or consider your weight gain and/or reluctance to lose it as my inevitable OUT!!

WHAT THE HELL?!?! Am I the only one just a bit put off by this...for lack of better words...FOOLISHNESS?!?!  Considering we are in the day of husbands/wives for hire and drive through divorces (ahem...Kim K..Eve & Ocho), I just may be.  Forgive me and call me a prude, but I still view marriage in the traditional sense.  A union of love, a ministry, between a man & woman for BETTER OR WORSE, RICH OR POOR, SICKNESS & HEALTHY and yes, all of that includes whether they are big or small!!

I don't want a man that wants me because i'm small, in my prime, young, beautiful.  NO, I want someone that will be around to spoon feed me if I need it, bathe me if I can't do it.  I want someone that will grab a burger with me at Wendy's as well as wine and dine at Prime 112.  I want a man that can appreciate me at my presently, attractive and curvy size 10/12 and will still love on me with stretch marks and a pooch in my size 18s if the day ever comes.

Damn.  Love comes with some killer conditions these days!!  Why call it marriage?  How about we call it "love til further notice".  Maybe relationships should be contractual like cell can opt out at the end of your two years if I am no longer rich, employed, cute, small, fertile, or eat pasta!  LOL, I'm just saying!  It's getting out of hand.  I wish a fool would present me with some ridiculous clause SMH

The Dating Series: What is Dating? What does it consist of & when does dating become a relationship?

Dating is getting to know someone while enjoying their company on a series of outings & meetings; going to dinner, movies, having picnics, staying up all hours of the day & night on the telephone, etc. The list could go on. Essentially, it's two people enjoying each other's company doing the things they each like to do. The dating phase, pre-relationship is usually about putting your best foot forward & "auditioning" potential mates for the most precious position of "the one". Much like job interviews, people usually look the best, speak their best, and do their absolute best during this phase...because as people we want to be wanted & to feel affection so we want to be THE ONE to land that part, but this part of the dating phase comes back to bite us in the ass during the relationship phase when we've stopped looking, speaking, and doing our best...& turning into someone completely unknown to our partner *enters problems* ....that's another topic.

The relationship phase of dating doesn't begin until two people have mutually decided & verbally communicated that they are only seeing each other after agreeing that there is a stronger than normal potential for a relationship between them to go the distance...whatever their distance is...LADIES sex does not make him your man! The start of a relationship must be communicated not assumed & their is NO time constraint on when a relationship should come to be! That is a personal choice between the or slow, in dating, best practice is to COMMUNICATE & HAVE FUN!

**Quote of the day**

"Pretty is as pretty does but beautiful is just plain beautiful"

Pretty is a surface thing...aesthetic & shallow, but to be beautiful is to illuminate from the inside with one's soul, intellect, and disposition...well, to me anyway.  Just my opinion of this quote.  To simply be pretty isn't enough. Every woman should seek to be beautiful...ppl remember & love trur beauty!

Basketball Wives the movie...

Just like the rest of the world, well, the reality tv watching world, I have been disgusted by Basketball Wives lately.  Not that it has been the most upstanding show on television, but lately the envelope has been pushed over the edge...namely by Tami & Evelyn.  I cannot, for the life of me, understand how grown mothers could act like that off camera, let alone on camera for the world to see.  I mean, I have been embarrased for them!  I found myself going on my own rant on Tami on twitter last week...turning into what I was criticizing, but it frustrated me to my core to watch her consistently come at Keshia like that on the show...THE NERVE!  My blood was boiling!!

Anywho, so the blogosphere has been abuzz about there being a Basketball Wives movie in the works...and..hmmm, I'm just not sure how I feel about that.  My opinion, it just may be too little, TOO LATE!  Supposedly the movie will show what it is REALLY like to be on the arm of a professional basketball player showing; the traveling, drama surrounding their other women/groupies, trades, semi-single parenting,etc...!  Blah, blah, blah...that was the same description that originally got us to buy into the VH1 show but we got basketball ex-girlfriends, estranged wives, groupies, thrown drinks, girl fights and anything but what was promised.  I'M NOT BUYING INTO THIS MOVIE TALK!  Shaunie O couldn't deliver in all of 4 seasons of the show with real women that were involved with real life basketball players.  With that said, I'm not looking for her to deliver the goods in a fictional movie at this point.  It seems like a desperate move to redeem herself and blame VH1 producers for the negative turn of the show.

However, I have to ask...will you support a Basketball Wives movie??

Newest Obsession...SCANDAL

So I'm super late, but my newest obsession on television has to be 'Scandal'!  That show is too good and Keri Washington was born to play Olivia Pope!

Firstly, as a reality show junkie, I'm just happy to find a scripted show that I not only like but love! Not to mention it takes place in my hometown...most powerful city, DC!!!

When you think about the real life scandals of John Edwards, Bill Clinton, John Kennedy...and go wayyy back to Thomas Jefferson you do wonder about Washington's political underworld!

Needless to say the finale was last week and I cannot wait for the second season!!

& then "mommy" was added to the mix...

On February 19, 2012 @ 11:13am, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, my daughter Trinity Noelle.  Six days later, I'm still in awe of the whole experience.  I can't believe I gave birth (one of my biggest fears) and not only that, NATURAL birth! OMG, yes, I had NO pain epidural, drip, or anything.  After a series of false labor alarms last weekend, I entered active labor around 9:30am on the 19th, got to the hospital around 10:30 and gave my final push to push my princess into the world at 11:13am.  The reason for no drugs?  I got to the hospital fully dilated and it was just time to push...SCARED does not describe how I felt when I was told I wouldn't receive meds.  The pain from the contractions felt like someone was beating the hell out of me in the stomach and back with a bulldozer!  God must've heard my prayers from the previous months and he gave me an EXTRA quick delivery, but honestly the pain was absent during my pushing. the title states "mommy" has been added to the mix!  I am someone's mommy!  Her dad and I are so ecstatic and I can already tell daddy's little girl can do no wrong!  I'm so happy for this new journey, the ability to give life, and for my BLESSING!

My natural hair....

So, lately I have been on this natural hair kick and to make a long story short l, relaxers are a thing of the past for me.  However, instead of doing the BC...Big Chop, I have decided to naturally transition into what is my natural hair texture...very course and THICK!  I have been very happy and pleasantly surprised with how much I have been enjoying this "journey"!  Thanks to youtube, mags, a great stylist, and loads of reading, I have been made privy to some beautiful natural hairstyles and techniques.

I am typing this post as I sit under the dryer at the hair salon.  I'm getting a flat twist first twist out.  I think I will love it! My last style was flexi rods, but that is nothing out of the ordinary for me.  I will post a picture later of my natural hair pre-blow out and post blow out & straightened as well as of the twist out I am getting today...

Are any of my followers rocking their natural hair or considering it??? Tell me about your experience!!

Checking in...

Tick tock, tick tock...yeah, the clock is winding down and in just a matter of 2 or 3 weeks, I will be someone's mother.  I will be a mother to a baby girl...Trinity Noelle Springfield!  My third trimester has kept me away from my blog(s) due to a lack of energy and a very eventful life.  Prepapring for a baby is indeed what everyone says it is...a job!  However, I have been enjoying the heck out of the process the appointments, feeling my child inside of me, shopping, eating, and just learning about being a parent!  Everyone is so excited!!

While this may be a post more fitting for my pregnancy blog, which I have also been neglecting for months on end, I thought it only appropriate to explain to my followers my lack of entries.  I'm SORRY!!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderfully BLESSED, happy, productive, and fun 2012 so far!!  I feel so blessed at this point in my life, moreso than ever before, especially from how I felt in the beginning of my pregnancy!  I shall be back soon with more material, commenting, and gaining new followers/readers!

'til then...HAPPY BLOGGING!
